Old Country Store at Lake Bowen

Love this old photo by Enterprise NCC-1701. Like how they zoomed in close enough to get a good look at the old signs and surroundings. The time of day the photo was taken adds much charm to this vintage setting. Sure would love to venture inside, how about you?

Sunflower Wreath

Sunflower Wreath by Country Door
Sunflower Wreath, a photo by Country Door on Flickr.
Love this Sunflower Wreath by Country Door. The actual sunflowers are the perfect size and number. The idea of placing the wreath on a mirror adds much visual appeal. Think I am in the mood for some decorating changes.

mindsetforsuccess | Tour Historic Edenton : Video

This video is a tour of  Edenton, N.C. Edenton  is the home of the historic Edenton Tea Party.
We live less than an hour from here and this is the town where my husband grew up.  Sweet little
community loaded with history. If you're looking for fancy shopping malls or big chain stores you
won't find them here. I love just riding around town especially during the holidays. Many of the
homes have a feel of Colonial Era and are decorated accordingly. Often families choose this
area for retirement. Hope you enjoy the video.

Photography And Videos: Naomi, Our Female Basset Hound

Just ran across this picture of Naomi, our full blooded female Basset Hound. She went to wherever good doggies go the end of July. She was 10 years old. We got her when she was 6 months. Naomi was a very loving friend to us and even to other animals that we have and also in the neighborhood. Another female basset lives over one field and whenever we missed her that was the first place we knew to look. This picture really doesn't do justice to her beauty but, our pictures a limited. She blessed us with another Basset Hound/Hunting dog mix that we dearly love as well. I'll share his picture at another time. ~ In Loving Memory

Photography: Red Spring Tulips

Love the beautiful tulips that show up every Spring and especially the red color. They are so vibrant! I have had several colors of this flower in my yard in the past but, thinking the moles have made a feast out of them or they have lived out their time. Think they are bi-ennials. LOL...not sure if I spelled that right. Anyways, I meant only for two years. So for now I enjoy them around town and in the country as we are out and about. Is this one of your favs too?

Photography:Lovely Bluebird

Picture below is of a lovely bluebird, think is a female. Usually the females are less colorful than the males so this is my guess. We have bluebirds in our yard and are starting to see them already for this season. I can sit in our sun room and watch them go about their activities back and forth to the bluebird house. Such a wonderful feeling to have them and their young around. One of my favorite birds. Do you like watching the bluebirds?Bluebird 1

Photo: Ducks At The Park

Sharing a photo of  two ducks taken at our local park. Aren't they beautiful? Many residents within our community love going to the park to feed them. You can always tell if they have been fed recently by whether they come rushing toward you. Usually we feed them stale bread and sometimes you see the turtles coming up to the surface of the water and grabbing the bread before the ducks can get to it. This is a fun activity to do with children or grandchildren. Think it brings out the inner child in us as well. Is this something you enjoy too?
