Beautiful Butterflies Feeding On Fruit

Butterflies are so beautiful! We have many different types in our yard. They love our butterfly bush and zinnia flowers. I recently learned they like to feed on fermented fruit as those in the picture are doing. This may explain why we have so many because we have several fruit trees. I also made feeders similar to the one below from some pot saucers and wire hanging baskets. I made sugar water and added very ripe bananas and figs. You can actually see the butterfly shadows on the building nearby as they are feeding. Be sure and add the feeders away from any important areas of your yard as they do attract other less enjoyable insects too. Do you enjoy watching butterflies?
